Overview

Device Configuration is used for administrative management of all devices in the system, including adding new devices and modifying existing ones.

Device Configuration Page

The Device Configuration page provides a comprehensive interface for managing device settings and parameters. Access this page through the main navigation menu.

Configuration Table Layout

The configuration table displays devices in a structured format with the following columns: - Device Name: Clickable device identifier that opens the device detail view - Type: Device category (HDMI Encoder, STB, IPTV Server, etc.) - IP Address: Network address for device communication - Status: Current operational state with color-coded indicators - Actions: Configuration and management buttons

Device Detail View Navigation

Clicking on a device name in the configuration table opens the detailed configuration view for that specific device. This view provides: - Comprehensive device information and settings - Real-time status monitoring - Configuration parameter editing - Service instance management - Performance metrics and alerts

Bulk Configuration Operations

The configuration interface supports bulk operations for efficient device management: - Multi-device selection for batch configuration changes - Template-based configuration application - Group policy management for device clusters - Automated configuration deployment

Configuration Validation

All configuration changes undergo validation before application: - Parameter range checking - Network address validation - Service compatibility verification - Dependency conflict resolution

Configuration History

The system maintains a configuration change history for audit and rollback purposes: - Timestamped change logs - User attribution for modifications - Before/after value comparisons - Rollback capability for recent changes

Adding a New Device

Click "Add Device" in the Device Configuration section, fill in the required fields (name, type, location), and save.

Duplicating a Device

The duplicate action is available as a copy icon in the Actions column of the device table. Clicking it creates a new device with all configuration parameters cloned, appending "– Copy" to the name. The duplicated device persists after page refresh and can be edited independently.

Device Actions

Available actions include: - Edit: Modify device settings - Delete: Remove the device - Duplicate: Create a copy (as described above) - View Details: Navigate to device-specific management page

Device Types

The system supports various device types:

  • Performance Metrics: CPU, RAM, and network utilization
  • System Logs: Device-specific logging and error reporting
  • Alert Management: Configurable alerts and notifications

Troubleshooting

  • Device not duplicated: Ensure backend is running and check browser console for errors
  • Configuration not saved: Verify all required fields are filled and network connectivity
  • Device offline: Check network settings and device power status
  • Bulk operations failing: Verify device selection and permissions
